Welcome to ESIC Model hospital Bapunagar situated in Heritage city Ahmedabad in the State of Gujarat. Bapunagar named after Bapu which refers to Mahatma Gandhi, is an area having number of flour mills, Textile Mills and factories and basically a residential area of mill and factory workers. The location of this hospital known as Model Hospital, Bapunagar, General Hospital gives a huge advantage to Insured persons and families to attend and avail medical services at a nearest destination.
The Hospital is spread over an area of 35048 Sq.Meter , was taken over by ESIC from the Government of Gujarat on 01/01/2006 and shifted into the newly constructed building in February 2011. Sanctioned as 300 beds and commissioned 300 bedded hospital, the new building stands tall at 2 floors in OPD and administrative block with ward block in 5 floors. The Hospital building is well lit, well ventilated, has manicured lawns and beautiful garden. Hospital has adequate earmarked parking area for the ease of the movement of visiting beneficiaries.
ESIC Model Hospital Bapunagar was designated as Specialized COVID hospital during COVID Pandemic.
The hospital had an honour of visit by Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon'ble Minister of Labour and Employment and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India on 29/12/2024. He praised the services offerred by the hospital.
ESIC Model Hospital Bapunagar has got its NABH and NABL Entry Level Accreditation successfully. Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, DG, ESIC and other senior officers of ESIC Headquarters acknowledged and praised the Officers / Officials of ESIC Model Hospital for issuance of certificate.
MHB is also ISO 9000:2015 certified and ESIC 2.0 compliant, delivering standard secondary care services. Being a Model Hospital , MHB , proudly shoulders the additional responsibility of patient referred from far off areas like Surat , Baroda , Ankleshwar , Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Rajkot in addition to 42 dispensaries and hospitals in and around Ahmedabad. The footfall of OPD patients is around 1200-1500/ day and in door patient is 200-240/ Day with the bed occupancy varying from 60 to 80 % depending on seasons. The hospital is compliant with all statutory laws including ELORA, PNDT registration, Bio-Medical waste management, Fire Fighting Equipment etc. The hospital also has disaster management committee. Solar Panel system has been installed on the rooftop for power generation and is functional since 1st October 2019 making the hospital Eco-friendly and Self Reliant in power. Security and safety in and around the hospital is managed 24 X 7 by security agency and CCTV monitoring. The Hospital has its own Kitchen and its staff for providing quality food in the wards to admitted patients. There is also a Canteen facility for visitors. Apart from all the speciality services, the Hospital is also providing Super Speciality services like Endocrinology, Urology, Nephrology, Oncology and Neurology. With these Superspecialities available at the Hospital, the Insured Persons and beneficiaries are not required to be referred to tie up hospitals. In case, facilties are not available at this hospital, IP are referred to tieup hospital empannelled by SMO, Gujarat. The Hospital is also running in-house Chemotherapy and very soon likely to start in-house Dialysis services.
The Hospital has been acknowledged for its academic excellence as well and running Post Graduate DNB Courses in Pediatrics, Anesthesia and Obstetrics & Gyneacology.
The ESIC Headquarters Office has launched the AAA+ app, allowing insured persons (IPs) to book OPD consultations directly. IPs with AAA+ appointments do not need to queue for case registration and receive priority in the OPD at the relevant department.
MHB also provides Ayush Services (Ayurveda, Homeopathy & Yoga) to beneficiaries along with therapies like Panchkarma & Ksharsutra. Well maintained Ayurvedic garden with approximately 50 medicinal plants bring calmness and freshness to the surroundings.
